What does an AI picture or short video for a social post cost, pay as you go?

With AutomateSocials you pay per picture or video, not per month. A picture costs 1, 3 or 6 credits depending on the model (Nano Banana, Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro); short videos with sound start at 1 credit. Credits cost $0.05–$0.10 each, you get 50 free when you confirm your email, and they never expire.
What you actually pay for when you make social visuals
Most of the work behind a social post costs nothing in AutomateSocials. Writing posts, editing and drafts are free. Scheduling, the calendar and campaign planning are free. Talking to the agent is free, and so are MCP and REST calls. Publishing to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube is free.
Credits pay for a short list of things:
- •AI pictures, and edits of an existing picture
- •AI video clips
- •Reading other people's feeds
- •X's own per-post fee
So the question "what does my social content cost?" becomes "how many pictures and videos do I make?" If you want the wider argument for paying per item instead of per month, we cover it in Is there a social media tool with no monthly subscription?. This page stays on the price of each item.
Picture prices: 1, 3 or 6 credits by model
Every AI picture uses one of three models. The price depends only on which one you pick:
| Model | Credits per picture |
|---|---|
| Nano Banana | 1 |
| Nano Banana 2 | 3 |
| Nano Banana Pro | 6 (12 at 4K) |
Editing an existing picture costs the same as making one with that model. The site does not rank the models on quality or speed, so we won't either. Try the same prompt on two models with your free credits and keep the one you like.
Before anything that costs credits runs, the price is quoted and you say yes. You are then charged for what was actually made, not the estimate.
Short video: from 1 credit, with sound
Short videos with sound start at 1 credit. That is the only video price the site publishes: it gives a starting point, not a full range. We won't invent one.
What the site does say is how a video is billed. While a clip renders, at least 30 credits are held from your balance, more for a dearer clip. When it finishes, you are charged what the clip actually cost and the difference is released. If the job fails, the whole hold is released. Nothing that costs credits runs if your balance can't cover the quote; the agent tells you what is missing instead.
In practice: keep at least 30 credits on your balance before you ask for a video, and check the quote the agent shows you before you say yes.
What a credit costs: the four packs
After the 50 free credits, you buy packs when you need them. There is no subscription.

| Pack | Price | Per credit |
|---|---|---|
| 50 credits | $4.99 | $0.10 |
| 200 credits | $14.99 | $0.075 |
| 500 credits | $29.99 | $0.06 |
| 1000 credits | $49.99 | $0.05 |
The 500-credit pack is marked "most popular" on the site. Credits never expire, so a larger pack lowers the price per credit without a deadline to use it.
A worked example, in plain arithmetic
Here is what pictures cost in dollars, using only the prices above:
| Picture | Credits | At $0.10 per credit | At $0.05 per credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nano Banana | 1 | $0.10 | $0.05 |
| Nano Banana 2 | 3 | $0.30 | $0.15 |
| Nano Banana Pro | 6 | $0.60 | $0.30 |
Say you want one picture for each of 10 posts on Nano Banana. That is 10 × 1 = 10 credits. At the 50-credit pack price ($0.10 per credit), that is about $1.00. The same 10 pictures on Nano Banana Pro are 10 × 6 = 60 credits, about $6.00 at $0.10 per credit, or $3.00 at $0.05.
The 50 free credits you get when you confirm your email cover the first 10 Nano Banana pictures with credits left over. The site describes them as enough to try the whole flow: a brief, drafts, a picture, a post.
For videos we can only do the lower bound: a short video starts at 1 credit, which is $0.05–$0.10 at pack prices. The real price of a given clip is the one the agent quotes before it runs.
What else costs credits
Two other things use credits, and both are priced on the site.
Publishing to X. X charges for every post made through its API, and AutomateSocials passes that on: 1 credit per post, or 8 if the post contains a link. A bare domain counts as a link, and each part of a thread counts as a post. The other five networks charge nothing for publishing, so neither does AutomateSocials.
Reading other people's feeds. This is billed per post read: 10 posts read is 1 credit on X, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, and 3 credits on LinkedIn.
Everything else in the list at the top of this page is free.
Is this the cheapest way?
We won't claim that. Cheapest depends on how many pictures and videos you make, which models you choose and what you compare against. What we can show is the exact price of each item, quoted before it runs, with no monthly fee in between. The live price list is always on Credits and pricing and in the pricing section of the home page. To see the full flow from brief to published post, read how it works.
